Average outdoor weekly temperature is 33.6F. The greenhouse average weekly temperature is 51.5F and its thermostat was set around 45F. Today I've bumped the thermostat up to 55F to try and get some of the greenhouse trees to hopefully trigger flowering. |

4 new stainless steel 2-tier shelf sets have been put into the greenhouse to get plants a bit further up off the cold brick floor. |

Upgraded from a small 8" nursury pot into a 5 gallon air pot, 5-1-1 mix, and mulched with rice hulls. Confirmed the root flare is not covered in much soil/mulch. |
science | Nutrients Feb 27, 2023 |
Each plant is given 2-3 Jobe's container citrus spikes, a handful of G&B organic citrus & fruit tree fertilizer, a handful of miracle grow shake n feed citrus fertilizer, and deeply watered with Jack's 20-10-20 Citrus Feed. |

Plant was just purchased recently in late winter and has been placed in a greenhouse kept at 40-50F with my other overwintering citrus. I'll be up potting it into a 5 or 10 gallon air pot shortly. |

Four Winds Growers says established/mature Tarocco Blood Orange trees can be cold hardy to 28F. They flower seasonally in the winter/spring. |

Motivation to get this Tarocco tree is that I have an abundance of winter chill hours to deepen the color of a blood orange rated as most sweet. Moro gets deep red colors more easily in coastal areas, but in the Puget Sound I have 2500+ winter chill hour |
