Notes | From Scapify: Fortamino tomato rootstock is known for its robust growth and excellent disease resistance. It is particularly well-suited for vigorous tomato scions that require strong support due to heavy fruit loads or long production cycles. Here are some characteristics: Strong root system: Provides good support for scions and helps in nutrient uptake. Disease resistance: Offers resistance to common soil-borne diseases, which can be crucial for healthy tomato production. Vigor: Contributes to the overall growth and yield of the grafted scion. In the 94503 area, which is in American Canyon, California, scions that would be ideal for Fortamino rootstock are those that benefit from the rootstock's vigor and disease resistance. This includes both indeterminate and determinate tomato varieties that are popular for their flavor and size, especially if they are susceptible to diseases prevalent in the local area. The choice of scion should also consider the specific growing conditions and market demands of the region. All seedlings left inside under grow lights while in Hawaii generally grew much slower than those placed under floating row covers despite the amount of light and temperature. The plant on the left was outside while those on the right were inside. Also note the bigger one was in a bigger cup |
